Welcome: President Yvette Carter
I am honored and delighted to extend a warm welcome to each of you as we embark on another exciting year together. As the newly elected President of the Tennessee Counseling Association (TCA), I am filled with enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility to lead our respected community of dedicated professionals.
Our association has always been a beacon of excellence, providing invaluable support, resources, and advocacy for counselors across the state. Our collective mission includes promoting the development of all counseling professionals and using the profession of counseling to promote the well-being, respect for diversity, and human dignity of all Tennesseans.
This year, we are focused on several key initiatives that I believe will greatly benefit our members and advance the field of professional counseling:
- Continuing Education and Professional Development: We are committed to offering a schedule of workshops, webinars, and conferences designed to enhance your professional growth.
- Advocacy and Public Policy: Our association will continue to advocate for policies that support the counseling profession and the clients we serve. We will work tirelessly to ensure that our voices are heard at local and state levels.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where all counselors feel valued and supported.
- Leadership Development: We plan to create a pipeline dedicated to identifying, recruiting and developing future TCA leadership.
As we move forward, I encourage each of you to actively participate in TCA activities, share your insights and expertise, and take advantage of the resources available. Your engagement is vital to our collective success and the betterment of our profession.
I am excited about the journey ahead and confident that, together, we will continue to make a significant impact in the lives of those we serve. Thank you for your unwavering dedication and commitment to the field of professional counseling.
Warm Regards,
Yvette Carter, Ed.D.
